Autograph Seekers
McKechnie Field is a Mecca for autograph seekers. Players are happy to oblige the fans that line the walkway next to the bullpens, which are next to the players’ clubhouses (Pirates in right field, visitors in left). This is one of the more accessible set-ups in the Grapefruit League for fan and player interaction, and many players from the Pirates and visiting teams will sign autographs during the game. www.springtrainingconnection.com

Parking Limited Around Ballpark ? Arrive Early
Limited, but free street parking is available near the ballpark – but it is limited. Arrive early, like 45 minutes before the game.

Bucs come up short, drop finale to Giants
A day after the Giants altered the top of their lineup by trading Eduardo Nunez, they had another productive day in a series-clinching 2-1 win over the Pirates. No. 3 hitter Brandon Belt delivered the go-ahead RBI and Joe Panik -- batting second in place of Nunez -- scored another run on a Brandon Crawford groundout to help San Francisco break even at .500 on its lengthy 10-game homestand.

Polanco adjusting to second DL stint
The Pirates are searching for silver linings following Gregory Polanco's second trip to the disabled list this season. The bright side? The long-limbed 25-year-old is becoming more aware of his physical limits, head athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk said, and he's learning how to handle life on the DL.

Pirates rocked early in loss to Giants
The Giants' offense refused to allow another Madison Bumgarner start to end in a loss. Behind a showering of offensive support, the Giants ace picked up his first win of the season Tuesday when the Giants routed the Pirates, 11-3. Bumgarner (1-4) spun five innings of one-run ball in his third start since returning from the disabled list after the All-Star break.
