Tip of the Day

Spring Training Dining
In my opinion, the best restaurant on the West Side of the valley is the newish Arrowhead Grill on the north side of Glendale, about 15 or 20 minutes from Surprise. If you go into Phoenix, I can't recommend Pizzeria Bianco highly enough. It is annually listed among the best pizzeria's in the country and it is an experience. But be forewarned: You will wait. At least an hour, most likely two. There is a decent bar adjacent to the building and some seating areas outside, so don't go there in a rush. It's an experience. Personal favorites are the Rosa pizza and the Margherita (so simple, but sublime). Also in Phoenix/Scottsdale: Chelsea Kitchen (save room for the red velvet cake) and Havana Cafe (paella is a specialty). True Food Kitchen maybe the best "healthy" restaurant I've ever eaten at. Then again, my experience with "healthy" restaurants is limited.

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring".
